The Met Bar, Newbury Street
On Thursday night, my friends and I went to The Met Bar after we crashed a skin care party. The Met Bar is where the old Joe's American Grill used to be. The Met Bar is an infant in the city of Boston; it's only 2 weeks old. That's why I am not going to be too harsh on the place.
The Met Bar is obviously in a very good area. What could be better than being on Newbury Street? There are 2 floors you can choose from. If you would like to class it up a bit, you should go upstairs. We went downstairs of course. (If it was up to me, we would have went upstairs) Downstairs was very casual. Sports games surrounded me on 8 televisions. By now, you should all know that these f&*king sports games follow me wherever I go. Old guys were undressing us with their eyes - always fun. The drinks were nice and strong but I have to say, a little overpriced for the ambience. Not to mention, the bartender legit checked our ids for 2 minutes AND asked for multiple forms of back-up. I admit, I look like I am 12 but there is no way my license is a fake. Jersey ones are just too colourful to fake.
Overall, The Met Bar was so-so. I don't really want to give a final verdict on the place because a.) I was only there for 45 minutes and b.) it's only 2 weeks old. Before I can give a substantial analysis of this bar, I am going to have to go again (and upstairs next time).
